The Japanese media is as good, if not better, than the U.S. media when it comes to media censorship and control. For the past two-three days, I’ve been noticing an influx in reporting abroad on the Tokyo Electric Power Company’s (TEPCO) Fukushima Daichi plant and how it currently is recording its highest radiation levels since the March 11, 2011 earthquake/tsunami. However, in Japanese media reporting, front-page news consists of tornados, semi-floods, and crazy cats. See below for front page news.
To be fair, the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Public Health just released a website showing radioactivity levels in Tokyo and according to the data, they’re recording levels lower than New York, Paris, London, and Beijing.
